Jaipur Rugs Company Private Limited is a family business that has its history dating back to the year 1975. The foundation of this business was laid with the motive of earning profits and spreading kindness in the way. As a manufacturer, supplier and exporter, we combine our business assets. Our rich industry experience, streamlined management model, industrious workforce and unwavering quality commitment, for instance, for delivering our exquisite spectrum of carpets to more than thousand clients spread across 40 countries globally, including highly competitive markets of the USA. About Jaipur Rugs Foundation

Began in the year 2004 by Mr. NKC under Rajasthan Public Trust Act with the motive of reaching out to remote locations and bridge the gaps between the village communities and us, thereby, enabling them to become self-dependent by weaving not rugs but their lives together. This weaving of lives we talk about is done via our couple of intertwined verticals that have been established for social development and entrepreneurship development. Both verticals complement each other well as one focuses on economic well-being of artisans by polishing their skills while the other focuses on their social well-being by spreading awareness.

Artisan Connect

For bringing into limelight Hand Knotted Wool Rug and other varieties of impeccable quality, we have developed a network of 40,000 weavers from 6 Indian states. We carefully perform our duty of connecting them together with a common thread of compassion and love. Artisans who work with us are provided with sustainable livelihood and better opportunities ensuring their personal growth. For this, we organize various programs and projects that also have some societal impact.

Initiatives

The projects we are a part of are cited below:

SGSY Special Project: SGSY is an abbreviation for Swarnjayanti Gram Swarozgar Yojana that follows strict rules of Ministry of Rural Development, Indian Government.
Alternative Education Program: This program renders functional literacy to the illiterate artisans.
Health Camps: Free health check up camps are organized in villages not only for the artisans but all the residents of that location.
Artisan Cards: We issue Artisan Cards to the artisans with the support of Development Commissioner Handicrafts and the local entities.

Ms. Kavi, Mr. Shantanu Garg, Mr. Sandeep and Mrs. Tania Khosla, Mrs. Gauri Khan, Ms. Jennifer Adams, Mr. Artemis, Ms. Luli Sanchez, Mr. Hiren Patel, Ms. Ariane Thakore and Mr. Lorenzo Vitturi are some reputed name associated with our company. Every designer we are allied with displays an irreplaceable and impeccable art through their artistic skills. Our Guiding Light

Mr. NK Chaudhary, our founder, has a belief that goodness, fairness and love should prevail in business. When these three factors prevail, profits follow itself. It was in year 1975 when he got the idea of starting his own business. He began his business voyage by borrowing 5,000 INR from his father and had 9 artisans and two loom, initially. With this dedication and hard work, he, today, has established a network of 40,000 artisans across India and a large client base across 40 nations. His work is devoted to bring forth the talent of artists who need to appreciated for their work.

Our History

The entire history, achievements and milestones of our company are tabulated below:

1975	Foundation of business was laid by Mr. Nand Kishore Chaudhary who initially had 2 looms, 9 weavers and 1 scooter in Rajasthan.
1978	Slowly and steadily, he setup a strong foothold in the market and within 3 years the production expanded to 10 looms and a large pool of artisans.
1980	The first media appreciation was received featuring NKC with the title-Carpets: More than a revival.
1986	Connecting global markets and initiating direct exports had begun.
1989	Connected with tribal belts of Gujarat.
1992	Indian government granted the privileged of using walkie-talkie for monitoring the rural belts and connecting different areas together for employment.
1995	Gold Trophy Award by Carpet Export Promotion Council of India
1998	Export Award
1999	NKC officially named his business as JAIPUR CARPETS in India. Sister company of this business was setup in USA under the name JAIPUR RUGS INC. His elder daughter Ms. Asha also joined the business.
2000	Our network of artisans increased rapidly by touching 10000 plus lives a day.
2003	State Award for Export Excellence by Rajasthan Govt.
2004	The operations of Jaipur Rugs foundation were commenced under the Rajasthan Public Trust Act.
2006	Received our first International design award, America magnificent Carpet Award and our network grew to many groups of 40 weavers each across 10 Indian states.
2007	1 Million square feet of Handknotted Carpets were produced and Enterprise Resource Planning was implemented. Udyog Rattan Award
2008	We doubled up the showroom space.
2009	We were featured in 5th Edition of The Fortune At The Bottom Of The Pyramid by C.K. Prahalad. Best SME for CSR by Business Today & Yes Bank Award of Excellence - Floor Covering by HFN American Graphic Design Award by Graphics Design USA

2012	NKC rose his voice as a speaker at TEDx hosted by IIM, Ranchi on the topic Catalysing Change.
2013	From being featured in one of the magazine pages, he made his appearance on the magazine cover. Chaos Theory by Kavi, featuring our first contemporary handknotted collection launched at Domotex, Germany.
2015	A rug named Anthar, from project Kavi, won special mention in German Design Award, 2016.
2016	Our company initiated to connect our artisans with global customers by gifting their handmade postcards to them. With this our Postcard project was initiated. The Emory Entrepreneur Awards 27th Annual ARTS Award in the category of Green Manufacturer
2017	Artisan Originals Collection was introduced in the market with the motive of bridging a connection between rural weavers and International market.
2017	German Design Award Winner and got special mention for Excellent Product Design. Awarded with Carpet Design Award for Best Modern Collection
